At the children's health camp "Aivazovsky," kids delved into the world of animation! In the morning, they learned about stop-motion and tried to create a small title sequence animation on sand. The letters were made from juniper twigs that had been cleaned and selected beforehand. Polina Shvetsova, a student at the School of Design at HSE University, who led the workshop, demonstrated how live statics work, and together with the children, they took several frames showing ripples in the still letters.
In the evening, participants discovered various animation techniques and what materials can be used for making cartoons. After the theoretical part, they familiarized themselves with an animation stand where they were explained its structure and how to properly set up lighting and camera for working on it.
Now the children are ready to make their own animated film for the "Clouds" Film Festival!
